Randstad is recruiting for a strategic and highly analytical Manager Management Accounting to lead a specialised financial function for a large state government department based on the Gold Coast. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving high-level financial reporting and business analysis that supports the entity’s budgetary performance and strategic funding requirements.
This is a critical, 6-month temporary engagement starting ASAP. The position is classified at the AO8 level and offers a highly competitive casual hourly rate of $97.66 – $103.19 plus superannuation.
The Role
In this role, you will lead a dedicated Management Accounting function to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial insights that inform executive decision-making. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing technical advice to senior leadership to ensure internal controls are robust and budget targets are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team to deliver precise fiscal insights and expert business analysis for Executive stakeholders.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO and Senior Leadership regarding critical budget milestones and performance management.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to forecast long-term fiscal impacts and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain budget integrity by providing specialised advice to divisional teams and ensuring financial controls align with organisational goals.
- Analyse and interpret complex funding allocations to ensure resources are effectively aligned with operational requirements.
- Champion the evolution of internal financial frameworks to ensure peak operational integrity and rigorous statutory compliance.
- Oversee complex financial operations, including utilising SAP S/4HANA for budget adjustments, journal management, and statutory reporting submissions.
Skills/experience required:
- A relevant accounting qualification (equivalent to CPA or CA) is mandatory.
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Commerce is required.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering integrated management accounting services within a large-scale, complex environment.
- Advanced experience using enterprise systems, specifically SAP S/4HANA or similar, to manage complex data, budget adjustments, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of financial accountability frameworks and experience managing complex budgets in line with government standards.
- To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with no work restrictions.
